Change is a wonderful thing

It has been almost five years to the day when my friend and fellow weaver, Karen Donde, and I set up shop in the River Arts District in Asheville, NC.  The years have flown by and many things have changed in that time, as life does.

This Saturday will mark the last day Karen and I will be in the shop together before we close the door for good.  This closing presents wonderful new things for each of us, and without the past five years in the RAD we would not be where we are today: Karen with her teaching schedule full and my wholesale business keeping me in front of the loom constantly.

Thank you is not quite enough to say to those who have helped me along this path.  My husband, Bill, has been there for me through every turn and studio move and for these I am forever grateful.  My daughter, Melissa, has helped me endlessly through more IT questions and website designs than I can count. as well as input for weaving designs and plans.  She rocks all things lovely.  My niece, Katie, has forged ahead to get my wholesale business off and running and for her I will always be thankful.  And Karen, my forever weaving friend and steadfast studio mate, there really are no words to convey fulling all she has given me in the past five years and beyond. Yes, there are tears, but they are all joy.  Lastly, I thank all my weaving friends who have encouraged and mentored me along the way.  You know who you are.

I am looking forward to this new adventure, for without change there is no real excitement.
